I have been very reluctant to give mobile banking a try, but finally gave into the Chase mobile app. I have to say that I found their mobile app extremely easy to use. And I was pleasantly surprised. Big thumbs up.
Since I have physical issues, I can’t always get myself to an actual brick & mortar bank. And with two checks that needed depositing. I wasn’t sure if mobile was the answer. But it was.
Depositing checks with Chase mobile app
First thing I did before even trying the app was to do a little online snooping. I find that it helps me take in information to get an initial “how-to” lesson. And luckily, Chase offers its own list of steps to help make the process easier.

Now if any of you are like me, seeing a list of steps can be overwhelming, especially if it’s about something brand new to you. But all you need to do is review it a few times for the general idea, before opening your phone.
And now, go ahead and start setting your phone up for mobile deposit. The Chase mobile app itself will guide you through nicely. As someone who worked for a long time in application development from a user standpoint, I was very impressed with the user-friendly design.
And when it comes time to taking the picture of your check(s), it will help you make sure you do it right. Even suggesting a redo if it didn’t register properly. The whole thing took me a few minutes at most.
I do not work for Chase or get paid for this in any way.
I just want to assure you that I am writing about the Chase mobile app only because I was so initially resistant to the idea. And it turned out to be a good thing. At least for me.
But I also advise strongly that you make sure you have really good online security set up before using this app or any app that transfers money or sensitive personal data. Especially important if you are using public wi-fi.
And if you live in New York City, you might want to try NYC Secure for extra mobile security.
Please feel free to tell me about your own experience using this or any mobile banking app — the good, the bad, and the ugly.
